Donnie Klang Catches his breath!

So it seems like BadBoy is making the Band again, and plan on putting the spotlight on their new artist Donnie Klang. So this is the story, I got together in the studio with writer George Martinez and producer Danjahandz to write for a project about a year back. The three of us ending up writing "Catch my Breath" which is now being featured on Donnie klang's record. George and I, from the get go loved the idea we have written and hoped the song found a good home. And low and behold its on this Donnie Klang album "Just a rolling stone". Here is a quote from Donnie himself, "Catch My Breath", definitely one of those two. ("Catch My Breath" is the timeless record on the album; it could have come out 20 years ago or 20 years from now and it's still just a good song." -Donnie Klang

Brick and Lace

Part urban singers and part urbane songstresses, sibling duo Brick&Lace are genre-busters who staunchly defy the 30-second pitch. Are coming off their tour and starting to get ideas and working on their new record. We had the opportunity to link up and cause some ruckus in the studio, right from the start we all had a great vibe and began working on a tune called "freakin weekend". I am currently working on producing and finding that sound, for the new records they deserve a smash! keep and open ear out for them, and i will keep you posted here on this site as well.

ill Factor goes StreetBoxx

Drum Machine company Zoom and along side roger Linn, are in the process of creating a brand new unit called the Streetboxx 2. They have gotten in contact with producers from around the globe to add input and contribute sounds and beats onto the new unit. I was blessed enough to be part of that, the unit designers had myself featured on the drum machine with contributing some of my unique drums sounds and effects. Should be very exciting to see this product do well it has gotten great reviews in the past NAMM shows and wish the best of luck to Zoom.

Daniel Bedingfield

WHOA! is pretty much the words out of my mouth the first day Daniel stepped into my studio to begin working on his upcoming album. His is a non-stop train of thought and you really do have to play catch up with him. He came to Miami with so many ideas of how his music should sound and definitely did not want to stray away from it. It was a very unique experience working with the guy and the masses are definitely going to love the music.

Navigante

It’s once again, non-stop chaos here at the studio. Currently producing my new artist Jean Shepard, for a project we are calling “Navigante.” Jean was front man of Latin funk group Radio Mundial, which their last album released, had the honor with performing on stage with legendary Carlos Santana, due to the group writing a song for Carlos’s “all that I am “ album. This is a very exciting time for us here in the studio the material keeps getting better and better with every new song written.  Jean and myself are really well pleased with the direction the project is heading in, it just sounds so fresh nothing out there is tearing it up like this stuff is. I will be posting a FREE song to download, from the project off of this website for a limited time, so be sure to check it out.

The Richness

I had the pleasure of running into Chris Richardson way before he joined in the American idol show. And in just 15 seconds of him performing a song on his acoustic guitar, I knew this kid was a smash. I shook my head and said, “We most definitely need to link up.” I had Chris fly down to Miami the next couple of days and started writing a couple of tunes together then he took off into the world of American idols. After Chris made it to the top five and went on tour with the rest of the top selected in the show we finally come back down to my studio in Miami to finish up where we left off. Right away we got into writing with myself on the piano and Chris believe it or not on the drums. We wrote about four songs that very first night, giving us the hard choice of picking which song to actually finish instead of starting up a new song. It has been a great fun week working with Chris, still shaping his sound, and pin pointing him to a direction that will not disappoint his already huge fan base but come across with a new unique vibe. More to come on this project for sure Chris is currently off writing with other artist as well as touching base with me as I continue to feed him tracks and songs to work on.

Working on the Sarah McLeod Record

I didn’t know exactly what to expect from Australian rock star Sara McLeod, but I was excited about working on a project of this sort. The past two project before have been R&B/Pop records, and to go all out on a rock record would be fun. That meant, the studio was going to be loaded with some more guitars, mega amps, and lots of beer.

Soon as Sarah walked through the door of the studio, we instantly hit it off. She had a great attitude and so very much excited to be in Miami for the first time and to work on this new record. She quickly setup her Mac book and played some of songs she had written back home in Australia. She basically at first wanted to just kind of re-vamp her songs, like just beefing them up a little bit. That was her main intension of coming here “kind of just see what you guys can do with these songs”. Some, which I loved right away and some could use, some work on. Soon as we heard all of her songs we paused and decided what songs need what and which should we start with. I called out one of the songs she titled “thunder road” and we started on that one, but I felt like the rhythm track could definitely be done over again but with some more sounding much more heavier. As I got started on thunder road my mind drifted and went else where and I started writing a whole other song entirely and she saw me nodding my head up and down in my headphones and banging away on the mpc4000 and she looked over at me and asked.” what are you doing over there” I looked over to her and said “yo sarah check this out” asked jimmy to turn the speaker volume up a bit. I hit play on my sequencer and the groove had her in a trance everyone in the room was up and alive and just letting loose she quickly grabbed a pen and paper and began writing quickly some lyrics, and I do mean quick. After that jam session we ended up writing a brand new tune titled “RUN” and from that day one we scrapped the other songs she brought and decided to just write new material. Month later a new album was born. The spectrum of songs done fit very well together we wrote about two slow tempo songs, “faithfully”, “easy my love” and the rest are just in your face bangers. All in all, I had a blast working with Sarah, and I have a feeling it won’t be the last.
